1 Cor 6:19: What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
The word Sanctification or Sanctify means to be set apart for particular use or purpose
- As we submit ours to the Lord
- We become holy and more like Jesus
1 Peter 1:15-16: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;16 Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy.
- Not holier than thou
- Holier than thou is someone that behaves as if spiritually superior
- It is self-righteousness and not the righteousness of God
WE LIVE IN A BODY THAT HOUSES OUR SOUL AND SPIRIT
IN THE SANCTIFICATION PROCESS, WE GIVE OUR WHOLE BODY TO THE LORD
- Not just the soul and the spirit
- We started with our spirit man being brought from death to life
- Then we cooperate with God to clean us up
- So that we can reflect the Glory of God in our lives
1 Cor 6:20:For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
- People may say this is my body, and I do what I please with it
- But most that think that way are slaves to their desires
- They don’t own their bodies
- But their bodies own them
- When we become Christians, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit live in us
- We are of Divine Ownership
THE SANCTIFICATION OF OUR BODY IS A NEEDED PROCESS
- Jesus gave His Body for us as a sacrifice for all of humanity
- We should give our bodies to Him
- In living our lives, surrendered to His Spirit
- Can we SURRENDER ALL
- To hand over to the Lord all control
- To give him all that is keeping us from glorifying Him in and with our bodies
Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
- Paul is begging them (beseech means beg)
- That they present their bodies as a living sacrifice
- When we say body, this includes eyes, ears, hands, feet, and mouth
- The mouth has “that little unruly member” (the tongue)
- These are gates to the inward person
- That unseen part of us
Romans 6:13 (calls them members) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
- The Lord teaches us how to yield ourselves to God
- Rather than to the desires of our members
- God wants to change those desires, addictions, wants, and needs
- And make our members instruments of righteousness unto God

Give your heart to Jesus today by saying this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my heart and life. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Please, help me to live for you and tell others about you for the rest of this life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
